Men’s tennis suffers 4-3 defeat to New Mexico

The Sacramento State men’s tennis team lost to No. 58-ranked New Mexico by a score of 4-3 Wednesday.

Freshmen Kiryl Harbatsiuk and Artur Klimenka, and sophomore Anton Stryhas won singles matches but the Hornets only took one of the three doubles matches.

Klimenka and junior Sven-David Rueff battled to a doubles victory 8-7 but the Hornets lost the other doubles matches, both by a score of 8-4.

Harbatsiuk defeated the No. 39-ranked player in the NCAA Max Jones in three sets, 7-6, 2-6, 6-4. Stryhas defeated No. 91-ranked Johnny Parkes 7-5, 3-0 ret.

The Hornets’ record dropped to 4-3 while the Lobos improved to 6-5.
