The Sacramento State men’s tennis team defeated Eastern Washington 4-3 Friday in Sacramento to remain perfect against Big Sky opponents.

After losing the doubles point by falling in the No. 2 and No. 3 matches, the Hornets won three singles matches to tie the contest 3-3.

Co-captain Sven-David Rueff won the first set 6-3, lost the second set 6-7 (7) and won the final set in the final match of the day 6-4 against Kenneth Norling.

“It was huge – losing the doubles match and coming back,” Assistant Coach Kevin Kurtz said. “Everyone came together at the end.”

Freshman Artur Klimenka and sophomores Anton Stryhas and Holden Ching also posted singles wins.

The Hornets face Weber State at 10 a.m. and Idaho State at 2 p.m. Saturday in Sacramento.
