Junior Karina Jarlkagaova broke a 3-3 tie to secure a win for the Sacramento State women’s tennis team Saturday in San Diego. She defeated Tammy Kevey 7-5, 6-3, in the no. 4 singles match.

San Diego won in doubles play but singles victories from Katrina Zheltova, Luba Schifris and Aileen Tsan kept the Hornets in the match.

“We’ve had an illness and an injury this week so it was a tough win,” Sacramento State Director of Tennis Bill Campbell said.

The Hornets improved to a 7-1 record and will play Weber State and Portland State on March 1 at the Rio Del Oro Racquet Club.
