In their spring opener the women’s rowing team easily handled their competition at the CSUS Aquatic Center on Saturday.

The varsity eight team – composed of Chanel Patterson at bow, Jamie Weatherfield at the two seat, Susan Kulzer at three, Jennifer Boyer at four, Adelle Reimer at five, Stephanie Brow at six, Katie Litvinchuk at seven, Sarah McKenzie at stroke and Christina Clifton at coxswain — crossed the finish line after the 2,000 meter race with a time of 6:56.1, six seconds faster than second place finisher Humboldt State.

The second varsity eight, the novice eight, the second novice eight and the varsity four were also victorious in the rest of the races.The Hornets next race is on Saturday at the Aquatic center as they host Santa Clara.
