Jamie Kennedy, Bobby Lee and break-dancer “BBoy Casper” were scheduled to perform in the Library Quad on Tuesday. Their publicist said the event was cancelled because the three had a late night and would be too tired to perform. The Hornet spoke with the three on the phone.

Bobby Lee, a regular on “Mad TV,” said he fell into acting by chance. He worked at a coffee shop that was next door to a comedy club. When the coffee shop went out of business, he got a job as a doorman for the comedy club. He started doing his comedy on open microphone nights and eventually became a regular at the club

Lee said his parents own a clothing store in Phoenix, Ariz. If he wasn’t in the entertainment industry, he said he would most likely be the owner of the small store that is in a “ghost town” mall.

Kennedy, whose work has included “Scream” 1, 2 and 3, “Malibu’s Most Wanted” and “The Jamie Kennedy Experiment,” was working at a Domino’s Pizza when he was 16 and knew that he wanted to be an actor. A friend’s mom got him a part as an extra in a film and he said you can see part of his ear in his first film, “Dead Poets Society.”

If he hadn’t ‘screamed’ his way into the entertainment industry, Kennedy said he would probably still be tossing pizza dough.

“I would probably be at Domino’s,” Kennedy said. “I made a pretty good pizza crust.”

Lee is currently developing a show for Comedy Central. He is also shooting another movie, which will be released later this year. Lee said his favorite comedians are Bill Hicks and Sam Kinison.

“BBoy Casper” is one of the break-dancers of the film and said he started break dancing seven years ago, at age 11. His dad is a musician and his sister used to break dance as well.

“Casper is truly amazing,” Kennedy said. “He’s a good actor and awesome dancer. Plus we got him for really cheap.”

Ten years from now, Kennedy said he hopes to be very successful in movies. He would also like to have more producing under his belt, continue his stand-up comedy, have a girlfriend that lasts for longer than one week, possibly have something that represents his DNA and give something back to the community, “instead of being so selfish,” he said.

Kennedy, Lee and Casper are in the upcoming movie “Kickin It Old Skool,” which will be released April 27.
