Associate Students Inc. gathered at 3:30 p.m. in the Capital Room on Wednesday to talk about new legislation at their second working board meeting of the fall semester.

A new logo is underway for ASI. Osaki Design will be involved in creating the graphic ?” the same five-member Berkeley-based design team that branded Sac State with its torch logo.

“It’s an exciting time to get a new logo,” Barajas said.

Bonnie Sugiyama, director of education, suggested the idea of getting Sac State students involved in the project by inviting the Graphic Design Department to help design the ASI logo. Members of the board agreed with her proposal.

Funds for the new logo will not be taken out of the ASI budget, but provided for by the university.

Barajas also proposed to add five members to the Finance and Budget Committee, a committee that “analyzes internal and external grants and then announces a recommended budget to the board of directors in early April.”

In addition, an Audit Committee will be formed with the intent of checking and balancing the ASI board of directors. Christine Hopkins, vice president of university affairs, said that board members will not be permitted to sit on the committee in order to keep the committee independent of the board.

Hopkins also motioned to appoint several students to various University and ASI Committees.
