Newest Sopranos Soundtrack – a mixed bag

Picking up in the 70s with a combination of Henry Mancini?s, “Theme From Peter Gunn,” and The Police?s “Every Breath You Take,” The Sopranos newestPeppers & Eggs CD goes from ultra cool to ultra modern.

The soundtrack from the HBO series features artists of every genre allowing it to appeal to a multitude of audiences as does the series.

The majority of tracks are entertaining with the exception of a couple of artists on the CD who, regardless of where they are slipped in on the CD, display norecognizable talent.

Some of the unusually delightful and unexpected tracks are, “The Captain” by Kasey Chambers, “Affection” by The Lost Boys, “My Lover?s Prayer” by OtisRedding, “Certamente” by Madreblu, “Black Books” by Nils Lofgren, “Living On A Thin Line” by the Kinks, “Vivald: Sposa son disprezzata” by Cecilia Bartoli,”Piove” by Lorenzo Jovanotti and “Core?ngrato” by Dominic Chianese.

With big names like, Frank Sinatra, The Rolling Stones, Otis Redding, The Kinks, Van Morrison, not to mention the beautiful Italian opera pieces, the doubleCD offers listeners music for every mood.
