Diffuser turned on after layoff

Cindy Vincent

After six long years of musical hardship, alternate-independent bandDiffuser, has finally released their debut album.

Originally from Long Island, Diffuser has gone through a sort of “bootcamp” for musicians. The journey started from crashing on their fans’couches for a place to stay to running on a marathon of tours with onlya miniature budget for funds.

As with every good band, if these trials and tribulations don’t breakthem, their experience will make them readily prepared for their future.

Diffuser initially started out as FLU 13, but decided to change theirname sometime last year.

“We just got so sick of all the name-number band names saturating themarket,” said drummer, Billy Alemaghides, who was quoted in aninterview with Hip Online. “Being a band that always strives to bedifferent, we had to make a change.”

This band can definitely be labeled as different if nothing else. Themusical background of each artist permeates into their music to createan individualistic sound that isn’t heard in today’s market.

Just imagine molding together Van Halen with Sonic Youth or Led Zepplinwith Sunny Day Real Estate.

The band is very proud of the way they successfully mixed and producedsuch a variety of music that can only be found on their debut album,Injury Loves Melody.Again, after six years of adveristy, Diffuser has finally made it to thesurface and is more than prepared for their future.
