Gymnastics falls short versus Boise State

The Hornets? gymnastics team fell short in their efforts to win the Feb. 3 in a meet at Boise, Idaho, against Boise State.

“We were coming off two big wins, which were two of our highest scores,” head coach Kim Hughes said. This time we didn?t perform as well, and we did not perform as well with the sharpness”.

That sharpness could be attributed in part to the long cross-country trip and slight adaptations the team had to make.

“We had a long trip and we had to adapt to the small things,” head coach Kim Hughes said.

The small things added up as they lost a tenth of a point here and there. Two falls on the beam didn?t help much either. But the teams? attitude remains high with the loss.

“Our attitude is positive. Our team knows what to do, and that is to turn up the intensity and not slack off,” Hughes said. “Our goal will be to get a win and our score back to where it was.”

The Hornets next gymnastics meet will be at Hornet Gym Friday at 7 p.m. versus UC Santa Barbara and Seattle Pacific.
