Three strikes you’re in

The most prominent player on the Sac State bowling squad began his career at friend’s birthday party.
This 15-year-old bowler had no clue as to how good he would become.
After seven years of bowling, Russell Yeager has recorded two 300 games, as well as a 806 series. He also placed fifth in the junior Las Vegas Invitational.
Yeager was welcomed to the Sac State bowling team by team president Russell Roach.
“He brings great talent and even higher potential to be highly recognized in the college bowling world,” Roach said.
You might’ve thought Yeager was influenced to bowl by family members but this is not how it went.
“I influenced them to bowl,” he said. “My dad and grandparents saw how much I enjoyed it and began to take up bowling as a result.”
Yeager is a rookie to the bowling team and plays the anchor position (last bowler in the lineup). He has averaged over 230 points in his first six games and he scored a record high of 279 for the men in the Northern California Intercollegiate Bowling Conference.
“As a rookie he is bowling very well in the anchor position, which is generally the pressure position,” Roach said.
Yeager wishes to bowl while attending Sac State with the hopes of becoming an all-american.
“I don’t know if I will attempt the professional bowling tour. I used to think I would in time but who knows what the future holds. It is hard living out there,” Yeager said.
