Walt Disney Pictures is once again bringing its spotted puppies to theaters this Thanksgiving in “102 Dalmatians,” a sequel to the 1996 box-office blockbuster, “101 Dalmations.”

This year Disney will tell an all new tale, starring Cruella De Vil played by Glenn Close. At the beginning of the film, De Vil has just been release from prison for good behavior. A politically correct “Ella” who does not wear fur seems to have replaced the evil Cruella. This new woman vows that she will have nothing to do with fur again.

All of Cruella’s acquaintances are astonished by her new transformation, but skepticism sets in when she buys a failing dog shelter and Dalmatian puppies turn up missing. Not so ironically, Cruella also forms a new friendship with fashion designer Jean Pierre Le Pelt, played by Gerard Depardieu, around the same time.

Unfortunately, the trusting dog shelter’s manager, Kevin, played by Loan Gruffudd, is framed for the theft of the missing puppies.

So from there the adventure begins as Kevin attempts to prove his innocence while searching for the missing puppies. He is aided in the search by Cruella’s probation officer and love interest, Chloe, played by Alice Evans.

This new Disney dog tale is set in Paris, as opposed to London where both the original “101 Dalmatians” cartoon and 1996 film were set. It is a film that children, adults and dog-lovers can all enjoy.
