Sacramento State is tearing down the temporary buildings on the south-east side of campus.

The temporary buildings will be replaced with a gravel lot containing approximately 250 parking spaces for faculty and students.

Director of University Transportation and Parking Services Nancy Fox said the lot will probably have the same ratio of parking spaces as Lot 6. Lot 6 currently has 210 parking spaces, with 58 percent of them being for students and the remainder for faculty and staff.

Using these figures, the new temporary lot will contain approximately 145 student spaces and 105 faculty and staff spaces.

The gravel parking lot will be in place until other use is found for the site, according to Ronald Grant, director of support services.

“We?re hoping to have the lot open some time by the end of October,” Fox said.
