Sacramento State announced that students will mostly have virtual instruction from January 24 to February 6 due to the Omicron variant surge.
The University Union remains closed due to the campus shutdown prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic on Oct. 25, 2020. The CSU announced that it will require boosters for staff, faculty, and students accessing campus by Feb. 28, 2022.

The Rooney Rule, adopted in 2003, requires all teams to interview at least one minority candidate for open coaching and executive positions, but has led to no significant change in the hiring of minority NFL coaches and executives.
