Sac State Students help save lives

The campus-wide blood drive, which takes place every semester, was back for its fall “Causeway Classic” edition, a competition between UC Davis and Sacramento State students.

The two-day blood drive took place in the University Union Ballroom on Oct. 20 and 21 and received blood donations from over 1,000 Sac State students who come out every year in an effort to save lives, says BloodSource account manager Ashley Smudski.

The drive created by BloodSource – which brings different campus communities together through the sponsorship of Associated Students, Inc., The Green Army, The Hornet Bookstore, the Union and the WELL – was created encourage students to donate blood and to provide volunteer opportunities.
