Volleyball forced five sets against Southern Utah, but fell 2-3

Sacramento State women’s volleyball loses its first conference game to Southern Utah with a final score of 3-2 (25-23, 25-21, 18-25, 30-32, 13-15).

The Hornets hit their lowest at .060 but managed to win their first set with a score of 25-23.

Sac State had a total of 50 attacks, 11 kills and eight errors, their second highest amount in the match.

The second set was another win for the Hornets, hitting their highest of the match at .371. This set contained only two errors, their least amount of errors of the whole match. The Hornets had 15 kills, their second highest of the match and 35 total attacks.

The third set was the Hornet’s first loss of the match by nine points. With 10 kills and 47 attacks, the Hornets hit their second lowest at .064 in their third set. Seven errors were also made by Sac State.

The fourth set was the second win for the Thunderbirds with a score of 30-32. The Hornets hit .109 and had 13 errors, their highest error count. This set contained the Hornets highest amount of attacks at 64 and 20 kills.

The final set of the match was another loss but the team battled and hit .148, which was their second highest of the match. With only nine kills and 27 total attacks, the Hornets had both their lowest amount of kills and attacks of the match in this set.

The Hornets will be looking for their first conference win 12 p.m. Saturday on the road against Northern Arizona.
