The Sacramento State men’s tennis team dropped its sixth straight match against the University of San Francisco, Saturday at the Rio Del Oro Racquet Club.

The 6-1 loss for the Hornets brings their record to 2-9 on the season.

In addition to having lost junior Sean Kolar for potentially the duration of the season, junior Marek Marksoo was unavailable for both singles and doubles matches. The lone win on the day came from junior Oliver Andersen. Andersen won in three sets at No. 4 (4-6, 6-1, 6-1).

The Dons swept the Hornets in doubles competition.

Sac State did not fare well in singles play as juniors, Roy Brandys and Tom Miller, lost at No. 1 and No. 3. Sophomore’s, Niranjan Ram and Joaquin Marquez, lost at No. 2 and No.4 as well.

The Hornets have been hurt this year due to injuries, but in order to make a berth in the Big Sky Tournament, which they have won the past six years, they will need to rebound from this tough stretch.

The Hornets will be back playing at Rio Del Oro Racquet Club Sunday for a doubleheader. The first match against Portland State will be played at 10 a.m while the second match against Southern Utah will start at 3 p.m.
