Located on 601 Alhambra Blvd, the renovated McKinley Park held its first SactoMoFo Food Truck Mania on Friday, as hundred of residents attended to enjoy a  number of Sacramento’s most popular food trucks and recipes.

Aside from the food, there was great music, a beer garden and activities for people of all ages to enjoy.

SactoMoFo’s Event Planner and Social Media Coordinator Britty Wesely, said they have received an outpouring of support for the Food Truck Mania event.

“This was the first time we hosted Food Truck Mania at McKinley Park, and we were so excited for it,” Wesely said. “ We definitely anticipate a large turnout at every monthly event.”

Next month, SactoMoFo plans to have more food trucks, a larger beer garden, shorter lines and live music.

Food Truck Mania, put on by City of Sacramento Council Member Steve Cohn and the SactoMoFo, is scheduled for every second Friday of the month until October.

Some of the food trucks at the event included Game Day Grill, Krush Burger, Drewski’s, Costa’s Kettlecorn, Happy Cow and Chando’s Tacos.

The cuisine from the featured trucks ranged from Belgian waffles to kettle corn and even gourmet lobster entrées.

Although every food truck was attracting customers, Drewski’s, Krush Burger, and Chando’s Tacos were attendees’ favorite, as the lines reached the other side of the park.

“We hope that [SactoMoFo’s] events bring awareness to what valuable players these businesses are in our community, and how delicious the food is” Wesely explained.

Food Truck Mania attendee Diana Rethford said she had never been to this type of event and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of people that showed up.

“It’s a great turnout. It’s been really fun, especially with the music going” Rethford said.

Rethford said her favorite food truck was Swabbies, which served tacos, fish and chips and sweet potato fries.

Without the formalities of dining in a restaurant, the open environment gives residents a chance to enjoy the outdoors and the taste of quality entrees.

With Food Truck Mania starting just in time for spring weather, the residents of Sacramento will have many more chances to catch these trucks and its gourmet food and entertainment at McKinley park every month.
