Luke Kristo scores second straight top ten performance at Rams Invitational

For the second straight tournament, junior golfer Luke Kristo scored a top-10 performance finishing tied for sixth at the Rams Master’s Invitational on Tuesday.

Sacramento State men’s golf finished in 10th place out of 15 total teams. The team scored a combined 54-hole score of 288-292-291, 871.

Kristo began the tournament strong with a first round score 67 and a second round 71 to finish the first day tied for second. However, the junior would finish the third round with a 2-over-par score dropping four spots in the standings.

The first round of the tournament was kind to Kristo as he was able to collect five birdies,11 pars and only two bogies. His 54-hole total 67-71-72, 210, was the sixth best finish in school history.

Junior golfer Owen Taylor struggled in the third round of the tournament after ending the heading into the day with an even par. Taylor finished with a 3-over-par third round collecting five bogeys, two birdies and 11 pars.

Taylor finished tied for 13th place.

Freshman golfer Robert Parden helped the Hornets out with a team low third round score for the Hornets. After scoring birdies on three out of the first seven holes, he double bogied the eighth as well as three holes on the back nine to finish the third round with a 71.

Sac State travels to Boise, Idaho to compete in the Dash Thomas Memorial this Monday at The Club at Spur Wing.
