Eating raw fruits and vegetables can become boring after chewing on endless amounts of carrots and apples. Mix things up with fruit and vegetable smoothies to add a bit of flavor to the usual healthy meal and kick-start the day.

Although it is recommended by nearly every doctor and health professional that we need to consume more fruits and vegetables into our daily diets, this may seem a bit of a challenge for many.

However, with the help of this smoothie recipe, you will be graced with a collection of nutritious vitamins and minerals. With this strawberry, banana, raspberry, carrot and spinach smoothie, you will be sure to reach nutrition nirvana that tastes great too.

This recipe is from my own creation.

Fruit and vegetable smoothie

Servings: 1-2

Total preparation time: 10 minutes

6 strawberries, sliced

1 banana, sliced

½ cup raspberries

½ cup carrots

1 cup spinach

1 cup ice

Begin by washing the ingredients and set them on a cutting board. Slice the strawberries and banana into bite-sized pieces then toss them into the blender. You may blend the first two ingredients at this time to prevent the blender from becoming too full with unblended ingredients, but do this at your preference.

Once mixed, place the raspberries in blender along with the carrots and the spinach. Blend all ingredients until a uniform paste has formed. Once completed, add in the ice cubes. When the sound of crunching ice has dissipated, the smoothie is now ready to dive into. Serve in a medium glass along with various fruits mounted on the glass’ rim.

This fruit and vegetable smoothie is an alternative way to enjoy our daily serving of fruits and vegetables. In addition, the smoothie is a blank canvas ready for your own personal and distinctive version of a nutritious drink. The possibilities are nearly endless, and virtually all fruits complement one another in creating new and electrifying combinations of flavor – so take your canvas, and experiment with the colors.
