Sacramento State’s women’s basketball took care of a season sweep of Montana State, defeating the Bobcats at the Nest tonight, 84-50.

The victory improves the Hornets’ record to 17-11 and marks the most wins in a single season since the program moved to Division I in 1992. 

Junior guard Alle Moreno led Sac State with 19 points, including five 3-pointers. 

The Hornets started the game with an early 12-4 lead in the first five minutes and never looked back.

Senior forward Kylie Kuhns extended the lead to 28-16 after she scored on a layup that led to a Hornets’ 44-24 halftime lead.

Kuhns finished the game with her 50th career double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds. 

In the second half, the Hornets kept on with their pressure as they extended the game to a 31-point lead after a 13-2 run that came during the start of the second half. 

Sac State would seal the game when junior forward Se’nyce Parrish hit a 3-pointer to give the Hornets an 81-48 lead with four minutes left. Parrish finished with 16 points and two rebounds.

The Hornets look to Saturday as they face the University of Montana in their last home game of the season. Kuhns, along with fellow seniors Megan Kritscher, Natasha Torgerson and Mallorie Franco, will be honored before the game starts. 

Tipoff is at 2 p.m.
