The Sacramento State men’s soccer team suffered its first Big West Conference loss 2-0 to No. 16 ranked UC Santa Barbara.

In the eighth minute, Ema Boateng and Nic Ryan of UCSB each scored a goal and the Gauchos held off the Hornets for the remainder of the game.

The Hornets (7-5-2, 4-1-1 Big West) play next on Saturday against conference opponent UC Davis at Hornet Field.
