Men’s tennis loses neutral-setting match to USF.

The Sacramento State men’s tennis team was knocked out by the University of San Francisco 7-0 in Tucson, Ariz.

In singles competition, the Hornets lost all six matches, but freshman Jonathan Hultkrantz put up the best fight after losing 4-6, 7-6, 10-6 in the No. 6 match to junior Jacob Hartwig.

The No. 3 match between freshman Germain Bahri and freshman Roy Brandys was a quick 6-0, 6-2 victory for Bahri.

In the No. 1 match, junior Thai Tu and junior Aliaksandr Malko played three sets where Tu won 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.

In the doubles competition, the Hornets put up a fight that went back-and-forth, but the Dons came out on top.

Tu and sophomore William Schumacher defeated senior Javier Millan and freshman Sean Kolar 8-5 in the No. 1 match.

In the No. 2 match, Bahri and Hartwig took down freshman Marek Marksoo and Brandys 9-7.

The Hornets will head back on the road and look to win their next match when they face-off against No. 13 U.C. Berkeley on Feb. 8 at 1:30 p.m.
