State Hornet Staff

The Sacramento State Police Department said an investigation is underway after a female student reported two male subjects who were claiming to be campus security officers around 1 p.m. on Monday.

The two men approached the female in the River Front Center saying they were conducting an investigation and they needed her assistance in a nearby parking lot.

The female refused and contacted the Sac State Police Department.

The first of the two men was described to be a white male in his late forties, early fifties, 5 foot 11 inches tall, fit build, with light brown hair, wearing a white and blue plaid shirt with blue jeans.

The second subject was said to be a Hispanic male also in his late forties or early fifties, 5 feet 11 inches tall with a heavy build wearing a plain black T-shirt.

The campus Police Department does not employ plainclothes security officers, nor do they have plainclothes officers conduct investigations.

Police suggested students request to see an official ID or badge if they are stopped by any police officer, as well as call the campus police department to confirm the identity of the officer.
