Guest column by ASI President Terry Martin

As Associated Students Inc. President, one of the questions I get asked most often is simply, “What is ASI?” Good question!
ASI is your student government. We provide programs and services such as Peak Adventures, the Aquatic Center, Children’s Center and KSSU. We fund student clubs and organizations, champion school spirit, and fight for student interests before the state Legislature and our campus administration.
On the bird’s eye level, we are a $6.6 million nonprofit corporation with one solid mission: to serve you! This year, my board of directors has been working hard on a new strategic plan, and we are proud of what we have created!
This year we will be expanding outreach to help you get more bang for your buck on campus by connecting you to resources to maximize your student experience.
Applying for a job? We have an amazing Career Center on campus. Looking for a weekend of fun? Peak Adventures offers a variety of hiking, skydiving and other exciting experiences. The possibilities are endless! We will also be helping students get involved in clubs, student organizations and campus committees.
We want everyone to have a worthwhile college experience and maybe grab a resume point and make a friend or two in the process.
Remember: ASI is your voice for what happens on campus. If you ever have a question, comment or concern, come visit us on the third floor of the University Union. You can also e-mail me at [email protected].
We hope you will be proud to say with us, “I Am ASI!”
