When you are hungry and you’re looking for a place that is good with good prices, Dad’s Deli is the place to go. Located on 1310 S St. in downtown Sacramento Dad’s deli specializes in different sandwiches. It is a small building with a light blue color, with paintings of skeletons eating big sandwiches; and if skeletons are eating their food, it has to be scrumptious. The deli itself is pretty small where no more than 10 people can be inside and be comfortable, but the people are friendly and the food is fast so it would be easy to pick up a sandwich and enjoy the time that you wait on it. However, if it does get to crowded for customers. Sam England, the owner of Dad’s Deli, will be opening up another venue on the first of the New Year where it will be a lot roomier said cashier Carlo Stower. Whether a person is in the mood for a hot or cold sandwich, a breakfast sandwich to start your day or even a salad to stay healthy, Dad’s Deli has it. Voted ‘Best Sandwiches’ in magazine Best of Sac 2007, Dad’s Deli is the place to go. “I have been going to Dad’s for a year and a half because I like the food, they have the best Ham and Cheese around!” said regular customer Bill Chance. One of their specialty sandwiches is called the ‘Hot Blonde’ which is a grilled sandwich made with chicken, avocado, swiss, spinach, tomatoes, roasted red onions, cucumbers with garlic spread, brown mustard with pepper plant sauce all on a sourdough. The sandwich was good, but do not take my word, go down to the deli and try it. Might find something else that will please your appetite, and all of the sandwiches are around $6 so it is not costly. “We receive a descent amount of students, especially in the summer time when everybody is out and about, but we mostly get skateboarders.” said Robert Yoman, sandwich maker. The food is tasty and the people are friendly. What more can anyone ask for from a food place?
