Men’s soccer ends in tie after Cabadas’ bicycle kick

The Hornets fell to 0-5-1 on the season but avoided a loss on Sunday when Fernando Cabadas made a spectacular goal with one second left in regulation to tie the UC Riverside Highlanders 2-2.
Cabadas’ bicycle kick sent the game into overtime but the Hornets couldn’t capitalize.
Neither team was able to score during the two overtime periods despite the fact that the Highlanders attempted seven shots.
The Hornets were outshot 24-8 on the game and the Highlanders attempted 10 shots on goal to the Hornets five.
The next game for the Hornets will be on Friday at Hornet Field at 4 p.m. against the Saint Mary’s Gaels.
