Dear CSUS Administrative Construction Managers,
A strong and viable campus news source is important to keep current students and alumni in touch with the variety of events and programs happening at Sac State. I understand the newspaper staff will be moved off campus temporarily to accommodate the construction schedule. I’ve been told the move means a 20-25 minute walk back to campus for journalists and this temporary move could last as long as two years. I am hopeful the staff can be located closer to campus or on campus as student journalists face hurdles to news gathering, in that they are usually a smaller staff without a variety of travel/equipment resources. I love my university and know the journalists at The State Hornet are doing amazing work. It’s important they can easily get to the stories they need to cover.
