Sacramento State’s library elevators were shut down Sunday morning as a result of a steam leak from a power outage Saturday evening.

Daryn Ockey, director of Facility Operations, explained how facility management handled the situation.

“We had a power outage in the library due to a steam leak last night,” Ockey said. “The steam caused the electrical panel to short out and the elevators powered down.We had our electricians out here this morning fixing the problem.”

The power outage was fixed before noon on Sunday. Ockey says this will not affect students on Monday.

“There are no more issues [with the steam leak],” he said.
